From one teacher to another

Students walk in assuming World War II moved slowly because World War I did, so the speed of the fall of France is usually the first real surprise of the unit. This lesson is built around that shock: how a new way of fighting turned a defense that had held for years into a collapse measured in weeks. I wanted the mechanics of it front and center, not just the outcome.

It's the second lesson in the World War II unit, following the opening one on aggression and appeasement, so students already have the diplomatic failure in hand before they see what the resulting war actually looked like on the ground.

The slides carry their own guided notes, the activity's got a full answer key, and I built the quiz and exit ticket as self-grading Google Forms so this one runs itself once you assign it.
