From one teacher to another
Totalitarianism is easy to teach as a checklist of dictators and hard to teach as a warning, and I wanted this one to be the second kind. The interwar years hand a country economic collapse, a wounded sense of national pride, and a government that can't seem to fix either, and that combination is what a totalitarian movement actually needs to take hold, not just a bad leader showing up out of nowhere.
This closes out the interwar section of the WWI unit, right before the class moves into World War II itself, so I built it to be the last domino before the next unit's opening lesson.
- Guided notes keyed to every slide
- An activity with its own answer key
- A teacher guide for pacing
- Quiz and exit ticket, both self-grading through Google Forms
