From one teacher to another
This is the lesson that has to answer the question every world history class eventually asks: okay, so how does any of this connect to now. I built it as the actual close of the course, tying the interconnected economy, technology, and culture of the present back to the empires, wars, and revolutions the class just spent the year on, instead of treating globalization like a brand-new topic with no history behind it.
It's the final lesson in the course's last unit, meant to send students out with a frame for reading the news instead of just a stack of finished content.
A teacher guide sets the pacing, guided notes run alongside the slides, and I built the closing quiz and exit ticket as self-grading Google Forms, answer key included on the activity.
