From one teacher to another

The Korean War is usually the one Cold War conflict my students have heard the least about, which makes it a good test of whether a unit's actually teaching the pattern of the Cold War or just the greatest hits. This lesson treats it as the first real case of the two sides fighting each other without fighting each other directly, and asks students to carry that framework into the conflicts that come after it.

I built it to stand on its own for a class that only has time for one proxy-war case study, or to run alongside the rest of the Cold War unit if there's time for the whole set.

What's here: guided notes bound to the slides, a full activity with its answer key, and a self-grading Google Form covering the quiz and exit ticket, backed by a teacher guide.
